About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Trucareqld' in Townsville, QLD. As a casual Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to our elderly and disabled clients, helping them to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting clients with personal care tasks, such as showering, dressing, and grooming
  • Providing domestic support, including light cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Accompanying clients to appointments, social activities, and community outings
  • Engaging clients in meaningful activities and recreational programs to promote physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and the broader care team to ensure a coordinated and person-centred approach
  • Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and industry regulations to maintain the highest standards of care and safety

What we're looking for

  • A genuine passion for working with the elderly and people with disabilities
  • Previous experience in a similar support worker or community care role, preferably in the aged care or disability support sector
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in aged care, disability support, or community services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide empathetic support
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to accommodate the varying needs and preferences of our diverse client base
  • A current First Aid certificate, CPR, and a valid driver's licence Bluecard, Yellowcard , Vehicle with registration and Comprehensive drivers license, Ndis modules,
  • Reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance for client transport duties
  • A compassionate and patient-centred approach to care
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
  • Full working rights in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or appropriate visa)
