Join a Federal Government Legal Operations Team

We are seeking a Case Management Support Officer (APS5) to join the Legal Operations team for our Federal Government Client. This role is crucial for supporting the intake, processing, and allocation of applications received by our client's Administrative Review Tribunal (ART).

This is a 12-month assignment with full-time hours, offering a pay rate of $55.24 per hour plus superannuation. The role is based in Geelong and operates under a hybrid working model.

About the Role

The Legal Operations team is responsible for managing ART applications, including filing Tribunal documents within statutory timeframes. The team also coordinates responses to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests and complaints related to the ART function.

Your duties will include:

  • Analyzing and assessing ART applications received by the client.
  • Creating and updating records in business systems.
  • Preparing case summaries to assist with matter management and allocation.
  • Filing Tribunal documents as required to meet statutory deadlines.
  • Drafting responses for complaints and other documents.
  • Assisting with the training and mentoring of new team members.
Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone with:

  • Experience with the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) or a dispute resolution environment.
  • Experience within the Agency and with the NDIS Act, particularly in Service Delivery or Reviews functions; highly desirable.
  • Previous experience as a paralegal or a similar background (e.g., law student or legal admin) is highly desirable.
  • Valuable skills in records management, governance and compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
