Who is RMIT Online?

We're all about delivering world-class digital learning experiences, with a strong focus on the future of work. Our passionate, nimble, and welcoming team is dedicated to creating a community of lifelong learners who thrive in their careers and lives.

Collaborating with industry leaders and experts, we deliver top-tier online education using the latest digital tools and technologies—and have fun along the way.

We value different perspectives, balance, and working in ways that work for you. Whether you're a parent, carer, studying, or simply seeking more space for life, you'll be supported to do meaningful work, flexibly.

About the Role

We're on the lookout for a proactive, people-centred Project Manager (B2B and Non-Award) to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract, starting ASAP.

This role exists to help us manage growing demand across our custom B2B learning projects and non-award initiatives. You'll be central to coordinating timelines, managing budgets, aligning stakeholders, and making sure the delivery of our digital learning experiences runs smoothly from start to finish.

You'll be planning, problem-solving, adapting when things change (because they do), and working closely with teams across RMIT Online and our clients. If you enjoy variety, collaboration, and shaping impactful learning experiences—this one's for you.

Let's Talk About You

You're a natural organiser who brings calm to the chaos and knows how to bring people along on the journey. You're confident navigating complexity, love a good checklist, and care deeply about creating clarity, alignment, and momentum in your work.

You're also thoughtful in how you communicate, respectful of different work styles, and great at making space for voices around the table—especially when timelines are tight.

What you'll bring:

  • Strong experience managing multiple, complex projects end-to-end
  • Confidence building and managing budgets, and translating scope into clear deliverables and timelines
  • The ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across organisations and levels of seniority
  • A flexible, solutions-focused mindset—you're someone who improves processes without overcomplicating them
  • Solid skills in PowerPoint and Excel, and a desire to keep learning and adapting
  • Bonus points if you're familiar with higher education, love digital tech, or enjoy navigating nuanced stakeholder needs with grace

Why This Role Is Great

  • You'll own high-impact projects that deliver real outcomes in learning and skills
  • You'll work with a smart, collaborative group of humans across Product, Learning Design, Tech, and Marketing
  • Your ideas will be heard—we value thoughtful feedback and continuous improvement
  • You'll have plenty of autonomy and flexibility to do your best work, your way
  • The role is varied and stimulating: B2B one day, future-focused B2C the next
  • And whilst this is a contract role, you'll be welcomed as a key part of the team—respected, included, and supported from day one

About the Team & Our Hybrid Ways of Working

You'll be joining the Product Non-Award team—a diverse, cross-functional group of humans who bring different perspectives, skills, and lived experiences. The team includes Learning Designers, Product Managers, and a Teaching & Learning Manager, and we work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional learning solutions.

We operate flexibly and understand that life doesn't run on a 9–5 schedule. One of our team members is based in Sydney full-time; others come into our Melbourne office around once a week. We also come together in person for key planning days or milestones—usually once a quarter.

What matters most to us is outcomes, not where or when you're working. If you're passionate about the work, we'll support you to do it in the way that suits you best.

How to Apply

Some might think cover letters are outdated—we don't. We see them as a window into how you think, communicate, and connect, and those skills really matter in this role.

In your cover letter, please tell us:

  • How you've developed costings or budgets for new projects
  • Your experience collaborating across multiple organisations or stakeholder groups
  • Your favourite CBD lunch spot for team catch-ups

Joining RMIT Online means more than managing projects—it's about shaping the future of learning with care, innovation, and impact. If you're ready to lead with purpose, influence with empathy, and help build digital learning that makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Bring your attention to detail, stakeholder savvy, and your favourite project planning tool—we'll bring the support, flexibility and community to help you thrive.

Apply now

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a thorough selection process, which includes relevant background checks such as reference checks, national police checks, working with children checks, and verification of the Right to Work in Australia. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we ensure a safe and compliant workplace.

RMIT is an equal-opportunity employer committed to being a child-safe organization.
