Senior Manager Group Strategy

As the Sydney based Senior
Manager Group Strategy, you will support the Head of Group Strategy & M&A, and key
stakeholders in developing and executing Great Southern Banks's strategy,
innovation, and Merger and Acquisitions initiatives.

You will be
responsible for leading a diverse range of strategic projects across the bank
including growth and market entry, product development, marketing and
distribution, process improvement, and optimisation.

You'll make an impact by:  

• Leading and coordinating strategic and Innovation projects related to Great Southern Bank's Aspire strategy spanning across all business units including growth and market entry, product development, marketing and distribution, process improvement, and optimisation
• Supporting the Head of Group Strategy and M&A in the strategic planning process including working with Finance and People & Culture to monitor and report on progress and achievement of strategic and operational plans, and mapping the organisation's strategic commitments into specific operational performance plans, targets, and budget
• Advising senior management on the external competitive environment and topics of strategic importance to our business such as best practices and revolutionary business models in the Financial Services, Mutuals, and FinTech / BigTech etc
• Developing rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis to support recommendations. Ensuring strategic and financial soundness and alignment for any recommendations
• Building out impactful recommendations solutions by integrating insights across Great Southern Bank's internal experts and supporting collaborative solution development

Do things differently with us  

To succeed in this role, you will have: 

• 5+ years' relevant experience from a top tier Management Consulting firm or Corporate Strategy role in Financial Services or similar industry providing strategic advice at an Executive level
• A proven consulting toolkit with superior analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to incorporate innovative approaches in solving complex problem
• A strategic thinker with ability to look beyond individual issues to identify broader themes with wider-reaching impact
• Ability to independently structure, lead, and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels
• A degree or post-graduate qualifications in a related discipline (Finance, Business, MBA) is a prerequisite
