We are looking for a Sydney based coding instructor to teach Primary and High school students how to code. This job would be ideal for a Computer Science / Software Engineering student, who is passionate about programming and education. We teach coding in 25 schools all around Sydney, so this job will require a lot of travel (both a car and a drivers licence are required). It is a casual role with fixed hours. No formal teaching experience is required, but knowledge of programming is a must (we teach Scratch, Java (via Processing), Python and C# with Unity.

About us

CODE4FUN has been teaching kids how to code since 2015. We deliver our coding classes face-to-face in 25 schools in Sydney area as well as online via Zoom. We teach four programming languages: Scratch, Python, Java (via Processing) and C# with Unity3D. Students usually study with us for about 4-5 years. We currently teach approximately 1,500 children, from Kindy to Y12. All our instructors are either professional programmers or computer science students.

Qualifications & experience

  • Computer Science / Software development / Software engineering degree, in progress or completed
  • Python, Java (via Processing), Scratch are must. C# & Unity, Unreal, Godot would be an advantage
  • Teaching / Tutoring experience would be an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Working With Children Check will be required if a candidate is successful

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Starting position - assisting in coding classes, teaching Primary & High school students the basics of coding
  • After successful probation period - Lead teaching coding classes face-to-face in schools and via Zoom after school
