Your part in our UnitingCare team 

The Older Persons program provides information, referral and support to callers accessing the Seniors Enquiry Line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proficient and appropriate response to range of issues identified by callers accessing the Older Persons Program using a high level of judgement, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity.

  • Evaluate and identify the needs of callers to determine the appropriate community services referrals applying knowledge of resources available statewide.

  • Based on experience in supporting Older Persons, assess clients' needs and determine best course of action to support their needs including setting up referrals and escalation to line management where required.

  • Refer callers to community services that can best meet the identified needs.

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field within the human services sector.

  • Telephone helpline experience

  • Experience in working with older people, their families and advocates

  • A warm, easy-going, friendly nature will assist you to work with relevant stakeholders and community members who access the service.
