Head of Ground Transport Operations

Perth Airport is investing more than $5 billion in new infrastructure so we can support our airline partners to grow, offering more services to new destinations and an improved customer experience. This will be the largest funded private equity build in Western Australia for the last 30 years.

Over the coming decade we will expand T1 International, and build new domestic terminal facilities, a parallel runway, two multi-storey carparks and our first airport hotel. This will deliver one airport for the people of Western Australia which will host all flight services in a central location giving passengers a seamless, world-class travel experience.

We're on the lookout for a highly experienced Head of Ground Transport Operations to lead and optimise the day to day operation of Perth Airport's Ground Transport function. This role will prioritise service delivery, safety, and security, while developing processes and procedures aligned with industry best practice.

About the role

• Lead, inspire, and develop the Ground Transport operational team to deliver exceptional service and safety.
• Oversee ground transport service providers, and administrative processes to achieve operational excellence.
• Implement and manage WHS compliance, internal assurance programs, and safety initiatives across the team.
• Act as a single point of contact for construction and major projects affecting ground transport facilities, minimising operational impacts.
• Monitor and control operational budgets, variable costs, and revenues to achieve financial targets.
• Contribute to the development and execution of the Ground Transport strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all staff are trained, monitored, and provided with feedback to maintain high performance standards.
• Represent Perth Airport at industry forums, conferences, and stakeholder engagements as required.

About you

• 7+ years' experience in an operational environment with strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams of varying sizes, with experience in coaching, development, and performance management.
• In depth knowledge of car park systems, reporting modules, and system administration.
• Strong understanding of airport regulatory frameworks and operational compliance requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business systems to manage operational information.
• Demonstrated business acumen to implement best practice processes, procedures, and efficiencies.
• Highly collaborative and trusted, with the ability to influence, communicate, and build strong relationships.
• Adaptable and solutions focused, able to navigate complex problems and dynamic operational environments.
