Help shape a safer, more respectful, and inclusive lifesaving community across Victoria.
Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is leading the Civility & Respect Project — a major initiative strengthening wellbeing, inclusion, and respectful behaviour across our clubs, members, volunteers, and staff.
We're looking for a proactive and people-focused Project Coordinator to help deliver this important work. You'll coordinate workshops, resources, and engagement activities that build understanding, improve connections, and embed LSV's values across the state.
If you have a background in community development, social impact, or education, and love working with diverse groups to make a real difference, this role is for you.
About the Role
As Project Coordinator – Wellbeing, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping a culture where every person feels safe, valued, and respected. You'll be at the heart of the Civility & Respect Project, coordinating impactful initiatives that promote wellbeing, inclusion, and respectful behaviour across our diverse network of clubs, volunteers, and staff.
Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you'll ensure the smooth planning, execution, and evaluation of engagement activities, training programs, and resources that embed LSV's values across the state.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate project timelines, risks, and deliverables to support respectful behaviour and wellbeing across the lifesaving community.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement activities that build psychological safety and positive culture.
- Draft and manage key resources including guidebooks, manuals, and communications that reflect diverse lived experiences.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting using MS365 and SharePoint, acting as the central coordination point.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to embed project outcomes into ongoing operations and initiatives.
You Will Bring:
- Experience coordinating community, education, or social impact projects, with proven ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders including volunteers, community groups, and senior leaders.
- Strong coordination and organisational skills with experience managing multiple project streams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation and presentation experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee) or eligibility to obtain one.
- Possession of a current and valid driver's licence, with the ability and willingness to drive as part of the role including travel between work sites
Whilst not essential, the following will also help you be successful in this role:
- Experience in wellbeing, inclusion, or behaviour-change initiatives within a volunteer or community-based organisation.
- Knowledge of water safety, lifesaving, Life Saving Victoria, Surf Life Saving Australia and Royal Life Saving Society Australia.
- Familiarity with community education, engagement, or capability-building approaches.
- A tertiary qualification in community development, social sciences or project management
Why Join Us?
- Be part of a purpose-driven organisation with a proud volunteer base.
- Help create a culture of safety, respect, and inclusion across Victoria.
- Enjoy free parking, hybrid working arrangements (3 days in office / 2 days WFH), and salary packaging up to $17,000.
How to apply:
LSV is always looking for enthusiastic, community minded individuals. If this opportunity sounds like you, please click on "Apply Now" to complete your application and upload your resume and a cover letter telling us why you are the best candidate for this position. Applications will be considered as they are received.
Applications close: Monday, 3 November 2025
Research shows us that women won't always apply for a role if they don't tick all the boxes. If you fall into that category we would love to hear from you, so we can access your ability and even if you aren't ready now, you might just be at out next intake.
LSV is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from suitably qualified and diverse candidates. We provide a welcoming, safe and flexible approach to work and provide an environment that benefits from and enables the best from everyone.
LSV takes seriously its responsibility to deliver a safe, fair and inclusive environment for Children and Young People. It is essential that anyone involved with LSV understands their responsibility in relation to child safety. Our organisation requires all applicants to obtain a 'Working with Children Check' prior to appointment.
