My Gateway, in partnership with Dot Exe, is looking for an apprentice to complete a Certificate III in Security Equipment. In this role, you'll use your problem-solving skills, work with cutting-edge security technology, and handle tools and equipment to help protect homes and businesses. This opportunity is open to school leavers eager to kick-start a career in security systems and electronic solutions

General duties:

  • Assist with the installation and basic setup of wired and wireless security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control units.
  • Support licensed technician with tasks such as laying cabling, terminating connections, and mounting security devices.
  • Use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively under supervision.
  • Follow detailed instructions to assemble and fix electrotechnology equipment.
  • Learn and apply work health and safety (WHS) practices, including identifying hazards and using PPE appropriately.
  • Participate in on-the-job and off-the-job training to build skills in technical problem-solving and fault finding.
  • Help document and maintain installation records, safety procedures, and job logs as part of workplace compliance.
  • Apply environmentally sustainable work practices while handling materials and disposing of electronic waste.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe work area, supporting site preparation and clean-up activities.

What You Need to Get Started:

  • Own transport and licence preferred.
  • A valid White Card or willingness to obtain one.
  • A strong drive to learn and complete an apprenticeship.
