About the Role
Ochre Health is seeking a skilled and influential
Government Relations and Grants Officer
to amplify our voice in the health sector and secure funding that delivers lasting community impact. In this pivotal role, you will support the Executive team to build trusted relationships across all levels of government, advocate for meaningful change, and secure grants and tenders aligned with our strategic priorities. Your knowledge, expertise, and track record of success will help ensure Ochre's long-term sustainability and our mission to provide accessible, high quality healthcare across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Influence and guide Ochre Health's Government Relations and Lobbying Strategy;
- Identify and assess grant and tender opportunities across federal, state, and local governments;
- Write high quality submissions for grants, tenders, and policy consultations;
- Manage the recurring compliance submissions/acquittals in relation to all grants and tenders, in collaboration with the Finance and Operations teams, as well as external auditors where required;
- Coordinate ministerial and departmental engagement for advocacy and funding;
- Support the CEO and Executive team to maintain trusted relationships with Ministers, advisors, and Chief Executives of key health agencies;
- Map and support Board and Executive government relationships and engagements;
- Prepare Ochre Health for participation in government forums, industry consultations, and taskforces;
- Develop briefing notes, talking points, and submissions for the CEO and Board;
- Maintain a grants calendar, tender pipeline, and government engagement register; and
- Provide advice to the CEO and Board on emerging risks and policy opportunities.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in government relations, public affairs, or grants and tender writing.
- A strong understanding of Australian healthcare funding and rural policy settings will be highly regarded.
- Excellent written communication skills with proven success in securing competitive grants.
- Ability to build and sustain senior level stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and with political and bureaucratic systems.
- Ability to manage complexity, deadlines, and independent delivery of outputs.
- Experience in general practice or health services highly desirable.
