Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Children's Cancer Institute Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

We've come a long way from our humble beginnings 40+ years ago. However, for 4 decades, our vision has been the same — to save the lives of all children with cancer and improve their long-term health through research. It's not if. It's when.

To accomplish our vision, we're seeking someone who lives our values: owning and delivering meaningful work, collaborating to drive impact, challenging the status quo to create a better future, and balancing logic with empathy. Let's achieve more, together.

As our Grants Officer, you will responsible for:

Providing comprehensive support for grant applications, ensuring compliance with funding body requirements, and coordinating major grant rounds. The role includes managing the grants inbox, maintaining a team calendar, and preparing post-award reports. Additionally, the Grants Officer will serve as a point of contact for researchers, assist with grant-related communications, and support the Senior Grants Officer and Senior Research Development Manager as needed. This position requires strong organisational skills and the ability to collaborate with various departments to ensure the successful management of grant processes.

To succeed you will have…

  • Grants Administration Experience:
Demonstrated experience in grants administration, preferably within a university central research office, faculty, or school-level environment
  • Compliance Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of compliance and reporting standards in grants contexts, including budget review processes
  • Organisational Excellence:
Strong organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple complex deadlines across Australian and international funding schemes
  • Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to effectively liaison with researchers, funding bodies, and internal teams
  • Attention to Detail:
Meticulous attention to detail essential for conducting compliance checks, budget reviews, and post-award reporting accuracy
  • Coordination Capabilities:
Ability to coordinate major grant rounds, manage document repositories, and maintain comprehensive tracking systems
  • Process Improvement:
Proactive approach to assessing current processes and developing practical improvements to enhance efficiency
  • Team Collaboration:
Strong teamwork skills with ability to contribute positively to team environment through knowledge sharing and mutual support
  • Deadline Management:
Capability to manage diverse tasks under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy standards
  • Flexibility and Coverage:
Willingness to provide coverage for team members during leave periods and adapt to varying workload demands
  • Technical Proficiency:
Competence in maintaining grants calendars, creating researcher communications, and preparing institutional support documentation
  • Stakeholder Management:
Skill in triaging inquiries, coordinating responses with external teams, and ensuring timely compliance with funding body requirements

We will support you to be your best with benefits that include but are not limited to:

  • Focus on employee wellbeing, including up to 5 gifted wellbeing days off (paid) per year
  • Access to Fitness Passport, with access to an extensive choice of fitness facilities across Sydney at discounted rates
  • Corporate discounts and discounts on education through UNSW
