Aboriginal Health Worker: $62, $90,357.00 per annum

Aboriginal Health Practitioner: $69, $90,357.00 per annum

What you will bring to the role

• Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (an applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW) and a demonstrated ability to effectively and sensitively liaise and communicate with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities and agencies. Being female is also a genuine occupational qualification for this position as described under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act, 1977 (NSW).
• Has undertaken or is willing to undertake, a Certificate IV Aboriginal Primary Health Care Practice with current registration as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and liaise with other health professionals and external agencies to facilitate integrated care for Aboriginal people.
• Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting the health of Aboriginal people, particularly mental health, drug & alcohol, psychosocial, domestic violence or sexual assault issues.
• Must be able to identify and implement health promotion activities within a secure environment for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Patients.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, time management, and computer literacy, including Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to work unsupervised, take initiative, and take a lead role in initiating and carrying out community development activities.
