Program Scheduler Contract with Local Gov

Your new company

Our client is a local government based in the CBD. They are looking to engage a Program Scheduler for an initial 12 month contract.

Your new role

Key responsibilities of the role are supporting the Program Integration Office (PIO) Manager and Master Scheduler, including:

  • Provide planning and scheduling support to the Master Scheduler including maintaining status of the general plan and associated sub-plans with various technical resources across the program.
  • Provide advice and guidance to engaged vendors and project managers on schedule maintenance and performance including reporting on schedule management to program leadership.
  • Provide robust advice to vendors and project managers in their development of reliable schedules and plans and develop improvement strategies with the Master Scheduler to raise scheduling and planning standards.
  • Lead project manager reviews of their schedules, drawing attention to focus areas as agreed with the Master Scheduler.
  • Daily management of the master schedule and supporting sub-schedules are directed by the Master Scheduler.
  • Influence of key program and business stakeholders through positive relationships to build and promote good planning practices.
  • Contribute to the development of best-in-class schedule management practices within the Program including reports, dashboards, and processes.

What you'll need to succeed

  • 5+ years demonstrated and extensive relevant experience in scheduling / planning management with a specific focus on technology vendors including systems integrators.
  • Expertise in understanding project methodology and scheduling dependencies.
  • Experience in resolving complex scheduling issues in an efficient method to ensure an optimum outcome is achieved.
  • Proven ability to clearly communicate deliverables, timelines, risks, issues, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Competence to challenge vendor variations (change requests) and provide evidence backed prioritisations for program management to make informed and robust decisions.
