The Opportunity
As the Senior Business Development Manager for our Ashurst Advance and Consulting practices, you will be the driving force in this newly created role, collaborating with key growth leaders, driving impact across our most innovative and high growth offerings in the market.
As a seasoned Business Development leader, you will lead a team to develop and execute the market strategy for our industry leading NewLaw and Risk Consulting divisions, identifying opportunities to transform our existing client relationships. Key responsibilities will include:
- As an integral part of our AA and RA teams, you will work globally across client facing teams to develop an integrated Go to Market strategy that drives growth and recognition.
- AI and Technology integration - champion the adoption and integration of AI tools, automation and data analytics within BD initiatives
- Team leadership - lead an agile BD team to deliver growth, sales management discipline and client, market and BD performance insights.
- Client engagement - build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and industry influencers.
- Opportunity identification - leverage market and competitor insights, client feedback and global trends to identify and qualify new opportunities for NewLaw and Risk Advisory

We are interested in hearing from people who have:
- Significant prior business development experience at a leadership level with a focus on professional services, NewLaw and/or Consulting (in particular, across Risk Advisory)
- Demonstrable experience in the application and integration of AI tools, automation and data analytics in BD or client solutions
- Strong commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of BD economics, sales cycles and methodologies
- The presence and credibility to influence at senior levels and evidence of building trust with clients and partners.
We would also strongly consider a qualified legal professional, or someone with experience in NewLaw/Legal Technology or from a consulting background with a keen interest in business development.
