About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cafe & Restaurant Manager to join our team at The Wildseed Cafe' in Ballarat, VIC. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our vibrant cafe and restaurant, ensuring exceptional customer service and driving the financial success of the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage all aspects of the cafe and restaurant operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and financial reporting
  • Lead, motivate and develop a talented team of hospitality professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue, improve operational efficiency, and enhance the overall customer experience
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create and maintain an appealing and constantly evolving menu
  • Monitor and analyse key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous growth
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers, local businesses, and the community to promote the cafe and restaurant

What we're looking for

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar cafe or restaurant management role
  • Strong experience in specialty coffee including Latte Art is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to deliver a seamless dining experience
  • Proficient in financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and profit-and-loss analysis
  • Hands-on experience with inventory management, staff scheduling, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to think strategically
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and a deep understanding of food and beverage trends
