An opportunity is available at one of Perth's finest retail seafood markets, for an experienced fish filleter; or a butcher who is looking for a change. We are also looking for some-one to take on a "senior supervisor" type role, to assist management in the day-to-day operations of the business. We ideally are seeking an individual who is interested in stepping into both roles, but applicants only able to do one of these roles will still be considered.

We are looking for people who are passionate about working with only the best seafood, and in the retail industry.

For butchers seeking a career change, training will be provided.

The Filleting-Role predominately entails, but is not limited to:

  • Fish filleting and Processing of fish and seafood (scaling, gutting etc…).
  • Cleaning to a high standard
  • Working as part of a team to achieve the required duties of the day.

The Supervisory-Role predominately entails, but is not limited to:

  • Managing the shop floor--re-stocking produce, visual merchandising, accepting deliveries
  • able to assist and lead the team of staff to achieve tasks required for the day, and the daily shop operations
  • Working collaboratively with current managers to achieve goals around sales, customer service, efficiency, quality control etc.

CRITERIA:

  • Minimum 2 years proven experience and knife skills in filleting/seafood processing, or within the butchering industry
  • Strong set of morals and good work ethic.
  • Able to adapt and accommodate to work within a team effectively and harmoniously.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Physically fit - able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20kg, and work in cold environments
  • Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience in retail environment (minimum 1 year preferred)
