As our Area 51 HR Manager you are a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources (HR) Manager to oversee all aspects of employee management and compliance within our organisation. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth HR operations, fostering a positive workplace culture, and supporting the business through effective people management practices. The HR Manager will be the primary point of contact for all HR matters, ensuring policies and procedures are followed while maintaining fairness, transparency, and consistency.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee Compliance:
● Ensure company HR policies and practices remain compliant with workplace laws and regulations.
● Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
● Conduct regular compliance checks across workplace health and safety, training, and employment obligations.
Hiring, Onboarding & Offboarding:
● Lead end-to-end recruitment including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and reference checks.
● Manage new hire onboarding, contracts, and orientation to ensure a smooth transition.
● Coordinate employee exits including offboarding documentation, exit interviews, and final payroll requirements.
Probation Management & Employee Lifecycle:
● Monitor and conduct probationary reviews for all new employees.
● Manage extensions, performance improvement plans, or terminations where required.
● Provide progressive support and guidance to managers for employee performance issues.
Payroll Oversight:
● Oversee payroll processes in partnership with finance/payroll providers. |
● Ensure accurate timekeeping, pay rates, entitlements, and leave management.
● Conduct regular audits to confirm payroll compliance with awards and legislation.
Employee Complaints & Grievances:
● Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns, complaints, or grievances.
● Investigate and resolve issues fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with workplace laws.
● Provide mediation and support to ensure positive employee relations.
Performance Management & Development:
● Oversee staff performance review processes and goal-setting cycles.
● Support managers in identifying training and development opportunities.
● Ensure consistent performance feedback and recognition practices across the business.
