The Company
We are exclusively recruiting a brand-new Business Development Manager in a Cairns t and FNQ territory for our long-term client in commercial contracting. Their business covers construction maintenance contracts and upgrades within local Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants, Resorts, Gov, Education, Strata, Building Services, Facilities Maintenance Companies, Commercial Buildings, Retail and Hospitality.
The Opportunity
This is a long-term solution selling sales position. This client rarely recruits new roles as their culture and longevity in this industry is second to none.
To be successful in the role you will possess the following skills and attributes:

Relationship and sales conversion master within the construction contractor market

Ability to attend industry functions events and conferences after hours to promote the company brand.

Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.

Complete a Risk Assessment for every job quoted to identify any potential hazards.
-
Experience in selling and converting sales into the DET, Private Schools, State Gov, Commercial Construction, Industrial sites, Facilties Management Companies etc.

Identify safety risks, such as working at heights, electricity and access methods prior to quoting on leads.

Research organisations and individual entities to identify new leads and potential new market segments.

Follow the Challenger sales process for identifying, prospecting, interacting with clients when qualifying leads.

Exceptional face to face communication and active listening style to understand client requirements long term for maintenance contracts.

Estimate and develop quotes for jobs under $50K follow up and convert over 50K internal company tender and marketing support given.

Present solution-based outcomes in the form of a proposal to potential clients.

Relevant and timely follow up after presenting the quote to the client 7 days.

Ensure all data from client contact is accurately entered and managed within the company's CRM system Microsoft Dynamics.

Negotiate pricing and contract terms, in consultation with State Sales Manager.

Business or Marketing degree qualifications.
-
Proven experience in business development and major account management with budgets up to 4 million per annum.

You will retain some ongoing clients as the company has a reputation in the market for being a leader in their field for more than 30 years.

Elevated level of professional and personal integrity.

Ability to plan and forecast, effectively and accurately.

Enthusiastic and driven initiative-taker who can work autonomously and deliver results.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

You will be currently working as a Major Account Manager with a large degree of business development in your role of a contracting solution selling business in construction and or building services company. Your minimum budget experience will be at 4 million and you will have proved ability to grow a business of this level in FNQ.
It is imperative that you have strong written (for state reporting) and verbal communication skills and can converse with contracting permanent and casual trade staff on site wearing a hard hat then internally with internal stakeholders and externally understand tender driven sales through Gov, Education and Commercial businesses through to board level.
