We specialise in the supply, service, and support of automation products and solutions for plant business, process control and industrial automation. Our goal? JOB DESCRIPTION
The Internal Sales role is responsible for nurturing customer relationships, providing internal sales and logistics support, and working closely with the Administration Officer, Application Engineer, External Sales team, and Directors as required.
Reporting to the Directors, the incumbent will play a critical role in supporting the sales team, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets. This role requires strong communication skills, a customer centric approach and a results-oriented mindset, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide general sales and logistics support to customers and colleagues.
- Work closely with the Application Engineer to prepare tailored technical solutions for customer proposals.
- Supply product availability information and prepare formal/budgetary pricing and quotations.
- Evaluate customer requirements and budgets to recommend suitable products.
- Maintain and update corporate registers (Zoho CRM, Micronet).
- Handle sales desk enquiries, backorders, purchase orders, and creation of new inventory items.
- Understand and apply inventory classifications and customer classifications.
- Create and maintain accurate customer records.
- Manage all aspects of logistics, including inbound and outbound deliveries.
- Maintain and update the quote register.
- Work with the Administration Officer to ensure repair centre and RMA processes are completed.
- Management, tracking and renewing all software update and support contracts as well as SaaS contracts. Maintaining software license inventory, tracking expiration dates and proactively initiating renewal processes in a timely manner to avoid disruptions to software access and support services.
- Maintenance of company price books, back-office systems and, KPI report generation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, and partners, to drive business success and foster long-term partnerships.
- Record sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline opportunities in CRM systems.
- Prospect and qualify new leads through calls, emails, and other channels.
- Follow up on inbound sales enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, understanding their needs, preferences, and pain points, and providing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of integrity, ethics, and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in sales or customer service role in the process control and automation industry, with a track record of success in generating leads, nurturing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets.
Strong technical background with the following technologies will be highly regarded:
Process control and automation (PLC's, remote IO, operator interface, industrial PC's, etc.)
- Industrial electronics and connectivity (power supply units, industrial ethernet, wireless, signal conditioning, surge protection, etc.)
- Sensing and process measurement (inductive, photoelectric, ultrasonic, temperature, pressure, flow, level, position, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, establish trust, and communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Results-oriented mindset, with a drive to achieve sales targets, exceed expectations, and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset, with a passion for understanding customer needs, solving problems, and delivering value through effective sales strategies and solutions.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct, with a commitment to upholding company values and fostering a positive work culture.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and CRM software, with the ability to navigate technology tools and platforms to support sales activities and track performance.
EDUCATION
Appropriate technical degree and minimum of four years' experience in the process control and industrial automation market preferred. Vertical domain experience either from work as an end-user, vendor, OEM, or integrator.
