The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Alcohol and Other Drugs service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.

We're seeking a fully registered and endorsed (or working towards) Clinical, Forensic, or Clinical Neuro Psychologists to join a dynamic team delivering cutting-edge, patient-centred care to individuals affected by methamphetamine use. Our outpatient clinics are designed to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and targeted interventions that reflect the principles of harm minimisation and long-term support. You'll collaborate closely with Addiction Medicine specialists and expert drug and alcohol clinicians to deliver integrated, evidence-based psychological and neuropsychological services.

This role also includes contributing to our Neurodiversity and ADHD clinics, supporting clinical outcome evaluations, shaping education and training programs, and providing professional supervision. What you will bring to the role

  • Must hold a post graduate degree in clinical, forensic, or clinical neuropsychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD) and full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and practice endorsement (or working towards) in Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in psychological assessment, case formulation and intervention for adults and adolescents with a severe mental illness, drug and alcohol concerns, and/or neurodivergent disorders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the relevant scientific literature on psychological services for adults and adolescents with a severe mental illness, drug and alcohol concerns, and/or neurodivergent disorders.
  • Skills in conducting research/quality projects including data analysis and program evaluation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and the provision of clinical correspondence.
  • An ability to liaise with a range of relevant agencies and departments both internal and external to health.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational, prioritisation and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical demands.
  • Current Driver's License and willingness to use for work purpose travel
