About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Plant Operator to join our dynamic team at AP Earthmoving Pty Ltd in Coonooer Bridge, Victoria. As a Plant Operator, you will play a crucial role in the successful execution of our construction projects, operating a range of heavy machinery and equipment to support the delivery of our services.

What you'll be doing

  1. Safely and efficiently operate a variety of construction equipment, including excavators, dozers, scrapers, and other specialist machines
  2. Perform routine maintenance and pre-start checks on assigned equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
  3. Collaborate with the construction team to coordinate equipment usage and movement on site
  4. Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies
  5. Report any equipment issues or incidents to the site supervisor in a timely manner
  6. Contribute to a positive and productive work environment by demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality

What we're looking for

  1. Relevant experience as a Plant Operator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of heavy machinery operation and maintenance
  2. Valid state/territory-specific HC or HC drivers licence
  3. Ability to read and interpret site plans, GPS and other technical documents
  4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on safety and efficiency
  5. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other construction personnel
  6. Commitment to continuous improvement and a willingness to learn new skills and techniques
