Production Manager

A well-established Australian manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead day-shift manufacturing operation in production of construction materials. This key role suits a confident people leader with strong operations expertise and a passion for safety, efficiency and team development.
About the Role
Reporting to senior operations leadership, you'll oversee a large shop-floor team, manage daily production schedules, and ensure high-quality, on-time output. You'll work closely with Maintenance, Transport, Sales, Customer Service and afternoon-shift leadership to keep the operation running smoothly.
What you'll be doing
- Champion safety and maintain a high-performance culture
- Manage day-shift rosters to meet production requirements
- Lead, coach and support operators, leading hands and contractors
- Drive accountability, resolve team issues and promote continuous improvement
- Review sales orders and plan production to meet customer deadlines
- Coordinate planned maintenance and minimise operational disruptions
- Troubleshoot production issues to reduce downtime
- Maintain strong communication with Sales and Customer Service
- Complete monthly reporting and support cost control initiatives
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and corrective actions
- Support training and development of team members
- Contribute to the improvement of plant procedures and operational systems
About You
You'll thrive in this role if you bring:
- 5+ years' experience in manufacturing (electronics, chemical, food & beverage, machinery, pharmaceutical, metals, or consumer goods)
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong communicator with solid problem-solving skills
- Confident managing people, performance and operational priorities
- Safety-driven with a continuous improvement mindset
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow and cost drivers
