About the role
As a Cultural Development Officer at Yarra Ranges Council, you will lead and support initiatives that encourages community participation in the arts, strengthens cultural identity, and builds local capacity.
The Cultural Development Officer supports inclusive cultural growth by developing policies and projects through strong partnerships and community engagement. They provide expert guidance in cultural planning, process improvement, and networking, while also building community capacity through tailored support and grant assistance.
This is a part-time, temporary position until October 2026 (parental leave backfill), (4 days per week, 60.8 hours per fortnight).
This is a Band 6 role with an hourly rate between $48.36 and $52.71 per hour, plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we're looking for
Strong ability to collaborate with clients, the public, staff, contractors, and external organisations to support program delivery and resolve issues.
Demonstrated experience and proven ability in project implementation including preparing and managing budgets.
Knowledge of funding and sponsorship opportunities and proven ability to secure funding.
Great organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with diverse customers.
Ability to generate innovative solutions or combine ideas in unique ways to create improved approaches to cultural development.
