We are a busy and compassionate medical practice seeking a friendly, organised and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our clinic. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and love helping people, we'd love to hear from you.

About Us:

Hearts 1st began in 1999 as Australia's first fully-digital echocardiography laboratory at Greenslopes Private Hospital and has grown to include an additional 2 sites (Toowoomba and Cleveland). We employ more than 50 staff, including cardiologists, scientists, admin and support staff. Hearts 1st is dedicated to providing the best quality cardiac care, with a specialised interest in cardiac imaging. Hearts 1st is committed to ongoing training and development of all staff.

What you'll be doing:

  • Greet patient warmly and professionally, in person and over the phone
  • Scheduling appointments, handling enquiries, and managing patient records
  • Verify patient information including Medicare and Health Insurance details
  • Billing services and processing payments in accordance with Hearts 1st guidelines and policy.
  • Providing administrative support to the practice, including data entry and general office duties
  • Assisting doctors with requested administrative tasks.
  • Ensuring the reception area is well-maintained and presentable at all times
  • Adhering to all practice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with patients, clinicians, and colleagues in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Demonstrated experience in a medical receptionist role or similar setting preferred
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • A strong understanding of medical terminology and confidentiality protocols desirable but not essential
