Payroll Officer

Location: Chullora, NSW

Work Type: Full-time

At Fantastic Furniture, we're all about making life fantastic for our customers and our people. We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Officer to join our People & Safety team. Reporting to the Senior Payroll Lead, you'll play a key role in ensuring our team members are paid accurately, on time, and in line with all legislative and compliance requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing end-to-end payroll processing for a large employee base, across both salaried and award staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with Awards, Enterprise Agreements, superannuation, taxation, and other legislative requirements.
  • Handling payroll calculations including terminations, redundancies, entitlements, deductions, and leave.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end payroll processes, including reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
  • Reviewing and verifying timesheets, system data, and variations to maintain accuracy.
  • Providing advice to managers and team members on payroll-related queries.
  • Contributing to payroll system upgrades, testing, and process improvement projects.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-4 years' payroll experience, ideally within retail, FMCG, or a similar fast-paced industry.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, modern awards, and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Advanced Excel and payroll system skills.
  • Experience with Dayforce (highly desirable).
  • A keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build relationships across all levels.
