Toyota Finance Australia (TFA) is the country's largest automotive financier. Our past gives us credibility and knowledge. But it's what the future holds, and how we can make the world a better place, that excites us. It's not just about technology but what it can do for people.
In Australia there are two separate businesses: Toyota Motor Corporation Australia (TMCA) and Toyota Finance Australia (TFA). While we work closely together, TMCA focuses on vehicles and here at Toyota Finance Australia our priority is to provide finance, insurance and fleet management.
At TFA we're committed to empowering our customers to get into their new car and onto the road.
We're also passionate about, and committed to, our people. Our philosophy of Here To Move You represents our commitment to not only move our customers, but help our employees grow.
Your success at TFA is important to us, and we pride ourselves on a work culture that supports and rewards people.
From partnering with you to support your career growth, to providing you with opportunities to learn, improve, feel engaged and appreciated, we celebrate our people and the difference they bring.
We strive to create a workplace that not only gives equal opportunities to people of all backgrounds and abilities but supports them to reach their full potential.
We're working towards a future where we look out for each other and our planet. Where we enrich lives with the safest and most responsible ways of moving. This is the kind of tomorrow we're imagining here at TFA.
Join us and help drive the future.
This role is based in our Head Office, Grosvenor Place, Sydney. The office is within walking distance from the train station. There are plenty of options for lunch and catching up with colleagues or friends after work.
How you'll make an impact
Toyota Finance Australia is seeking a seasoned Senior Business Analyst to join, a high-impact regulatory initiative delivering our organisation's obligations under the Consumer Data Right (CDR) legislation. This role is pivotal in helping us implement secure, scalable capabilities that enable data sharing through public APIs, empowering customers to make informed financial choices.
As a key BA on the project, you will work alongside another Business Analyst, partnering with a multidisciplinary team across technology, data, vendors, and compliance functions. You'll lead and drive end-to-end business analysis activities from detailed process mapping, requirements gathering, and gap analysis in collaboration with solution and data architects.
We're looking for someone who brings strong experience working in regulatory and compliance initiatives, ideally within the financial services sector, with bonus points for CDR familiarity. A solid technical BA skillset, including working with vendors, stakeholders, defining integration and data mapping requirements, and supporting PI planning and agile delivery is essential.
Your usual day in the office will include:
Agile Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, and agile delivery teams across Domains.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and System Teams to ensure alignment between business priorities, technical design, and solution intent.
- Facilitate workshops, backlog refinement sessions, and program increment (PI) planning activities to drive clarity and alignment.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and ensure that delivered solutions drive measurable customer and business value.
Requirements and Technical Analysis
- Elicit, analyse, and document technical requirements including integrations, APIs, data flows, and system behaviours.
- Produce detailed technical artefacts such as data models, mapping documents, interface specifications, and sequence diagrams.
- Support definition of acceptance criteria (e.g., BDD) and collaborate with testers to validate solutions meet business, technical, and regulatory requirements.
Delivery & Value Enablement
- Maintain a clear, prioritised backlog of technical features and enablers that support business outcomes.
- Partner with architects, developers, and functional BAs to ensure solutions are feasible and aligned to CDR regulatory standards.
- Track and report on value delivery using objectives and key results (OKRs) and other relevant metrics.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the improvement of BA standards, technical documentation practices, and collaboration tools.
- Share knowledge and mentor other BAs in technical analysis, agile practices, and effective stakeholder management.
- Actively participate in the BA Community of Practice and the Lean Agile Centre of Excellence.
Role-specific – Regulatory & Compliance
- Analyse business and technical requirements for systems, APIs, and data integrations required for Consumer Data Right (CDR) compliance and collaborate with architects and developers to inform solution design.
- Ensure obligations, risks, and controls are captured and maintained in the compliance traceability matrix throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Collaborate with functional BA teams to integrate regulatory requirements into technical designs and delivery plans
- Support test case creation, UAT planning and execution to ensure solutions meet business and regulatory requirements.
Your attributes
- 5–7+ years' experience as a Senior BA across large, complex projects
- Experience in Consumer Data Rights (CDR), open banking, or data standards (highly regarded)
- Technical and integration knowledge (data/API)
- Proven ability to work with vendors, cross-functional teams, and navigate risk/compliance frameworks
- Excellent process modelling, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Hands-on tools: Jira, Confluence, Miro, Excel/SQL
