Position Summary

  • The Senior Technical Business Analyst (Encryption) and Platform Engineer for Data Discovery roles are critical members of the Optus Data Office team. Together, they ensure secure, compliant, and scalable management of enterprise data assets through encryption, key management, and robust data discovery platforms. These positions require hands-on expertise in encryption standards, data engineering, compliance, and analytics-driven problem solving.

Must-Have Skills:

Encryption & Cryptography Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of encryption standards (AES, RSA, TLS), key management, and secure data transmission protocols.

Technical Requirement Gathering & Documentation:

  • Proven ability to translate complex security and encryption needs into clear, actionable technical specifications and requirements.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Assessment:

  • Strong knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) with experience in assessing encryption-related risks and controls.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Understanding of Encryption Standards: Familiarity with AES, RSA, ECC, TLS/SSL, and PKI.
  • Data Privacy & Compliance Knowledge: Awareness of GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001, and other data protection regulations.
  • Cryptographic Key Management: Experience with key lifecycle management, HSMs (Hardware Security Modules), and secure key storage.
  • Threat Modeling & Risk Assessment: Ability to identify vulnerabilities and assess risks in encrypted systems.
  • Security Architecture Knowledge: Understanding of how encryption fits into enterprise security and data governance frameworks.
