Ecommerce Assistant

Universal Media Co is one of Australia's largest innovative media companies with a range of popular magazines, websites, social, and video brands.

We have diverse ranges of books, magazines, and stationery which we sell direct to consumers via our e-commerce stores making them important digital assets for our business. If you love media, marketing, admin and helping hundreds of customers every day you'll excel in this role.

The three key aspects of the role are marketing, shop administration and customer service. We use content and CRM marketing to attract new buyers and retain our existing ones, and you will deliver and report on multiplatform marketing campaigns that drive sales. At the same time, each day you will manage the order administration for the site and provide customer service to our buyers.

This is a busy role for a driven individual who loves ownership, marketing, helping people, and the detail involved with administration.

What you will do:

  • Execute email and CRM marketing campaigns

  • Assist with deploying special offers and push them to market through all channels to drive sales

  • Update the e-commerce website with new products, offers and landing pages

  • Provide fast, reliable and high-quality customer service to the customers calling and emailing with orders or enquiries.

  • Work closely with the dispatch team, providing them with general support, dispatching orders and carrying out ad-hoc admin tasks.

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Some demonstrated digital skills involving email marketing and e-commerce website management. Mailchimp and Shopify experience is a big plus.

  • Experience delivering great customer service. Call center experience and/or administrative experience, especially within a similar role is an advantage.

  • Experience with the SubsPlus database would be an advantage, but on-the-job training will be provided.

  • You must be reliable and have good organizational skills with the ability to work in a deadline driven environment and have great attention to detail.

  • Strong creative and marketing eye and an understanding of digital marketing channels preferred

  • You must have an adaptable and flexible work approach as priorities change

  • A natural flair for sales and marketing is an advantage.

  • Provide troubleshooting advice to customers over the phone, assist customers in resolving issues with our services, including technical queries, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Communicate in a friendly, professional manner with a range of customers, colleagues, and managers.

  • Be ready to help your teammates if needed.
