Executive Manager, Technology Operations and Security

We're seeking an exceptional leader to oversee Technology Operations and Security functions, a newly created role that will modernise our technology foundation and enable our ambitious growth agenda.

About this strategic opportunity
This role will architect the operational technology model that will carry Keystart forward for the next decade. As Executive Manager, Technology Operations and Security, you'll be a strategic leader in our technology modernisation program, leading the migration from legacy on-premise infrastructure to modern cloud environments, embedding a customer and employee centric approach to the delivery of technology services, while continuing to elevate our security posture to meet the demands of a scaling financial services organisation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you'll lead a 12 person team comprising Security and Operations, with a clear mandate to execute elements of the new technology strategy, break down longstanding bottlenecks, and evolve the resilient, secure technology foundation that enables Keystart to deliver on its mission.

Your responsibilities
Infrastructure Leadership
: Lead core technology infrastructure including networks, servers, storage, and cloud platforms, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. Drive the migration of on-premises infrastructure to cloud environments with focus on resilience, cost optimisation, and security controls.

Security Maturity
: Develop and mature the Information Security program aligned with Essential 8 and ISO27001 frameworks, ensuring Keystart can grow and meet strategic objectives safely and securely

Operational Excellence
: Implement robust service lifecycle management processes, establish performance metrics for capability, efficiency, resilience and customer satisfaction, and drive continuous improvement through automation and contemporary ways of working.

Leadership & Culture
: Provide strong, supportive leadership and coaching to Operations and Security teams. Identify and develop required capabilities to meet future organisational needs. Build succession planning and workforce strategies for emerging technologies and threats.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management
: Collaborate with peers in Digital Solutions, Risk and Operations to enable growth, compliance, and customer trust. Oversee relationships with key technology service providers, ensuring commercial value and service quality and manage operating budgets effectively.

What you'll bring
Essential:

• Tertiary qualifications in Technology (postgraduate qualifications advantageous).
• 10+ years' experience in Technology Operations, Infrastructure, or Security leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience leading cloud migration initiatives.
• Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and service lifecycle processes (ITIL framework).
• Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to manage third-party service providers including cloud and security vendors.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills focused on building operational resilience.

Highly regarded:

• Financial services sector experience and understanding of regulatory requirements at scale.
• Experience in scale-up or transformation environments.
