Cyber Security Analyst

About You

Cythera is seeking an experienced cyber security Analyst who is currently working in a SOC team.  You will bring 2-4 years cyber experience and a desire to grow your skills and expertise within a global consultancy.

• Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following - Rapid7, Sentinel CrowdStrike, Netskope, or Cato Networks
• Completed an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology or demonstrated capability through past employment
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering
• Completion of /or working on certifications such as CISSP, CEH, SSCP, SANS GIAC will be highly regarded.
• Note: Due to the nature of our work, this role requires successful applicants to undergo a criminal record check during the onboarding process. You must also be able to demonstrate your right to live and work in Australia.

About the role

Our Analysts liaise with our clients – mostly online, however you need to be comfortable and confident managing meetings and client relationships.

The position is rostered Monday to Friday, with a rotating weekend on-call component (one weekend every 12-16 weeks).

Security operations, network segregation, anti-malware, web filtering, email filtering, firewall management; IPS, EDR and SIEM platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Some of your responsibilities and activities include:

• Being the contact point for assigned customer accounts, managing client relationships, chairing regular service meetings and generally being the human face for our offerings
• Day-to-day information security across our customers
• Monitoring analysis to identify, respond and report on security events
• Operating and monitoring IT security controls to support business requirements
• Actively identifying threats to the operation of Cythera and customer systems
• Working with third-party providers of security services for the effective operation of security controls
• Assisting with system audit requests and maturity assessment activities
• BAU processes to support our organisation support our customers.

Requirements and Skills

• 2-4 years within a cyber security environment, with experience responding to technology incidents
• Known for your diagnosis of the root cause of complex problems, often with limited information
• Demonstrated experience with at least one of the following domains - security operations, network segregation, anti-malware, web filtering, email filtering, firewall management; IPS, EDR and SIEM platforms
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 and related standards, privacy legislation and security policies
• Demonstrated experience working with service level agreements, and proudly meeting their expectations
• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with our clients and other Bastion Security Group offices across Australia and New Zealand.
