ABOUT THE COMPANY

My client is a well-established construction firm operating for over two decades, delivering fit out, refurbishment, and new build projects across Sydney. With a sharp focus on quality, detail, and relationships, they've built a strong reputation in the commercial, education, and retail sectors. With several new projects secured and repeat clients locked in, they're looking for an experienced Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager and Directors, you will be responsible for managing tenders, preparing cost plans, and delivering accurate, competitive estimates across projects ranging from $1M to $20M. This role is ideal for an Estimator with a strong understanding of both fit out and new build construction, looking to step into a long-term leadership role.

DUTIES

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and full tender submissions
  • Conduct take-offs and interpret architectural and consultant drawings
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing
  • Assist with value management and design development
  • Work closely with delivery teams to ensure a smooth project handover
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years of experience as an Estimator in commercial construction
  • Background in both fit out and new build is essential
  • Strong software skills (Buildsoft, Cubit, Excel or similar)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tenders under deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Tertiary qualification in Construction Management or related field preferred
