**About the role**:
The Energy Solutions team is currently recruiting a Data Analyst to build out analytics capability. The role is responsible for delivering actionable Insights through investigation of business value opportunities using data and analytics. The role is hands-on, investigating data to uncover insights, interpreting analytics results, reporting, developing & evaluating recommendations, and communicating findings. You will work with the business to embed use of analytics tools and take the lead in testing new tools and processes.

**Key Deliverables**:

- Working with the business to understand current processes and data as input into Analytics reporting
- Contribute to the development of analytic hypotheses and problem decomposition
- Develop and own pieces of analysis
- Act as a super user to explore data sets, test and explain possible analytic approaches, or leverage tools provided by the team
- Embed best practices when it comes to data wrangling, data visualization and reporting
- Develop data visualisations to explain and communicate data and analytic results
- Support the Analytics Strategists with translation of analytics outputs and insights into actionable strategies, and communication of findings and recommendations
- Work with business teams to help embed analytic outcomes into the business and support change management activities of related processes
- Communicate findings and estimate the value of business initiatives related to analytics

**Qualifications**:

- Experience working in an enterprise responsible for driving value through data and insights; broad understanding of different analytics opportunities in different business functions
- Experience in problem solving and/or business improvement using analytic approaches in complex environments
- Capable working with large data sets including SQL, and experience working with relevant big data technologies
- Skilled in any of the visualisation tool such as Power BI or Tableau
- Proven experience working with diverse business stakeholders, business partnering and/or consulting experience
- Experience in stakeholder management through project-based work
- Demonstrated experience independently leading initiatives and analyses end-to-end

**Desirable**:

- Experience in electricity industry and markets relevant to Ampol
