About the team
Our global team is growing rapidly in response to market demands for critical infrastructure to support the rapid urbanisation of the world. Capital intensive sectors such as Transport, Social Infrastructure, Energy & Resources, Manufacturing and Telecommunications invest substantial sums each year in their capital projects and programmes. We give our clients confidence in the face of challenges such as today's need to deliver more with less through to understanding and managing the risks of large capital programmes. We are passionate about the opportunity for technology to transform the delivery and operation of capital assets and apply a digital lens to everything we do.
Our Australian team draws on hands-on industry expertise and extensive experience from some of the world's largest and most complex capital projects. The team enables clients to set up, build and operate major projects with greater confidence in the results. We bring our clients this confidence through our focussed offering that focus on driving improved performance across the end to end asset lifecycle through the application of digital technologies to capital project development, delivery and commissioning and into asset operations, management and maintenance, including improved management of the supporting enterprise.
About the role
- Engage directly with high profile clients on their most important and challenging business issues and addressing and solving their priority capital project problems
- Work with a high performing team with a strong commitment to excellence in pursuit of helping our clients drive profitability and performance through their capital programmes
- Draw on Deloitte's unique capabilities in Design thinking, Digital, Data Analytics, Deloitte Access Economics and experience from our global consulting network.
- Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of complex program management and the ability to manage multiple work streams in an agile manner and a diverse group of stakeholders through a sustainable change program.
- Undertake extensive operations focused training and development (both structured and on the job) with the opportunity to experience borderless careers through international assignments and secondments
- Provide team leadership mentoring and proven capabilities in people management
- Work on some of the most challenging private and public sector capital programmes in the Region

About your Experience
In response to strong client demand for our services we are currently seeking an outstanding Consulting Director with extensive assets or capital projects advisory and transformation/change experience. To be a part of the National Leadership team where you will be able to grow and expand the current team.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Extensive consulting experience in a Tier 1 Consulting firm, boutique strategy house, engineering advisory firm or government'.
- Must have a strong infrastructure and capital projects development and delivery background
- Experience in major transport and/or utilities projects is preferred
- Proven experience in leading project teams, demonstrating exceptional business development, communications and client relationship skills
- Highly developed analytical skills with a track record for solving complex business problems
- Experience in the use of structured consulting approaches / frameworks is preferred
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
- Curiosity to learn and proactivity to bring forward ideas
- Strong sense of team and passion to develop others as well as self.
