About the Role
The Project Director is a senior level position to provide leadership, direction and management for the AM critical capital works and strategic project portfolio. The role works across the Australian Museum, government and industry, to negotiate with and gain support from key stakeholders to achieve project and program outcomes.
Employment Status:
- Clerk Grade 11/12
- Fixed term, end of January 2026 to December 2026
- Full time 35 hours per week

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $149,739 - $173,174, plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 12%) and annual leave loading.
About you
We are seeking a motivated, proactive and experienced professional who demonstrates effective leadership, sustains a high level of drive and commitment, displays integrity and resilience, and builds trust through consistent actions, values and communication.
Knowledge & Experience
- Significant experience in delivering complex major project plan and management specifically within the government
- Significant experience in government at a senior level
Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualification in relevant fields i.e. engineering, architecture, building, or relevant work experience
