Disability Support Worker – Male

Casual

We are seeking a male Disability Support Worker to join our team, providing high-quality support to individuals with complex needs across various age groups.

About the Role:

You will be working with both younger and older clients with a range of support needs. This role involves working independently as well as alongside other support workers, requiring someone who can adapt quickly and think on their feet.

Our ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting clients with Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and the safe implementation of restrictive practices, always ensuring a person-centred and respectful approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily living support to clients with complex needs.
  • Follow Behaviour Support Plans and implement strategies safely and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and other support staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Foster independence, dignity, and quality of life for clients.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 1–2 years' experience as a Disability Support Worker.
  • Experience working with both young and older clients.
  • Strong understanding of Behaviour Support Plans and restrictive practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check & Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle.

Desirable:

  • Cert III/IV in Disability, Community Services, or related field.
  • Training in Positive Behaviour Support.
