ABOUT US

WIRES is Australia's largest wildlife rescue organisation and has been rescuing and caring for sick, injured and orphaned native animals for 40 years. WIRES' mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same.

WIRES operates a dedicated Wildlife Rescue Office assisting wildlife and the community across Australia 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, providing rescue advice and assistance for approximately 150,000 animals annually, as well as providing full-time mobile Wildlife Emergency Responders operating across NSW, South-East Queensland and Tasmania.

WIRES also provides significant national support for hundreds of projects to assist with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation across Australia and collaborates nationally with major partners to support the long-term recovery of wildlife habitat and the preservation of native species.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Supporter Specialist's role is focused on implementing new fundraising initiatives and improving key fundraising programs to increase supporter engagement, improve long-term supporter relationships, and increase fundraising income.

This is a 12-month contract role with the potential for extension.

The role is a hybrid position, split between working from home and the Brookvale office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and implement opportunities across existing campaigns and channels to improve donor acquisition, engagment, and conversion - including improved personalisation of supporter journeys and systems optimisation.
  • Lead the development, management, and growth, of new and existing programs, including telemarketing campaigns, opportunities with 3rd party platforms, and testing new fundraising channels and campaigns.
  • Project manage campaigns from end-to-end, ensuring any issues are flagged in a timely manner, deadlines and budgets are met, and post campaign reports are completed and analysed.
  • Leverage opportunities to ensure campaigns are integrated and optimised across multiple channels.
  • Provide copywriting support for campaigns as needed, crafting donor-focused communications with compelling calls to action.
  • Ensure a data-driven approach is in place for decision making, with emphasis on segmentation models, donor research and data integrity.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Minimum 4 years' relevant experience in a not-for-profit environment
  • Demonstrated passion for fundraising and ability to increase revenue
  • Experienced with reporting and using insights to make data-driven decisions
  • Demonstrated financial and analytical literacy and experience managing expenditure budgets
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Tertiary qualifications in fundraising, business, or communications are desirable.
