Sydney Tools is one of Australia's leading retailers of industrial tools, equipment, and machinery. With a commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, we're expanding rapidly and seeking a dynamic Retail Operations Manager to lead our store network across Australia.

Position Summary

The Retail Operations will oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple retail locations, ensuring each store meets sales targets, operational goals, and maintains the Sydney Tools standard of excellence. This role reports to senior leadership and is responsible for overlooking Store Managers, and supporting all aspects of store performance, including budgeting, staff development and customer experience. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership & Team Management:
  • Manage and support Store Managers across all assigned retail locations.
  • Onboard new store-level employees to align with company values and performance standards.
  • Drive team engagement, development, and performance through mentoring, reviews, and training programs.
  • Store Performance & Sales:
  • Monitor and evaluate individual store performance metrics (sales targets, KPIs etc.)
  • Identify underperforming stores and develop actionable plans to improve results.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee daily retail operations ensuring consistency in customer service, merchandising, and visual presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, workplace safety standards, and operational protocols.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and KPIs.
  • Proven previous experience in a similar environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • High-level problem solving and decision making abilities.
