About us

The Corner Café is a busy, community- focused café located in Forest, ACT. We are known for our freshly prepared meals, excellent coffee, and friendly service.  We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team and support the day -to -day food preparation and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook dishes in accordance with the café's menu and daily operations.
  • Ensure all food is cooked and presented to a high standard and served on time.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of a kitchen, including all equipment and work areas.
  • Monitor and managed stock levels, assist with daily ordering, and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
  • Follow and uphold food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards at all times.
  • Work closely with front- of- house staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
  • Assist and developing menu items and daily specials as required.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience working as a cook in a café, restaurant or Takeaway environment.
  • Good understanding of food handling and preparation standards.
  • Strong organisational and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a fast- space kitchen.
