Your Day…

Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, you will be an integral part of our cafe team. We're looking for Chefs who can work during a fast-paced, a la carte, event and cafe style service and who take pride in what they do and genuinely love customer service and cooking.

Our chefs help to set the standards for the whole Food & Beverage Team by displaying a passion for hospitality and cuisine and the motivation to deliver an exceptional food experience to our guests.

We're open 7 days a week, 365 days per year, with evening and weekend shifts, so your availability is essential to be successful for these vacancies. You'll be rostered to meet the peak and flow of business demands.

Key Responsibilities:


• Plan and prepare menu items and ensure adequate supplies for each service


• Create and execute menus that showcase creativity and innovation while meeting dietary requirements and customer preferences.


• Maintain food presentation and quality according to recipe standards


• Maintain strict stock control procedures and minimise wastage.


• Assist in implementing and maintaining kitchen systems and cleanliness


• Liaise with the front-of-house team about menu availability and changes


• Delegate tasks to kitchen staff to meet service demands efficiently


• Ensure all working areas and equipment are clean, serviced, and compliant with OHS standards


• Participate in food preparation and coordinate the kitchen team as required


• Be willing to learn and follow procedures, working closely with the Head Chef

Qualifications:


• Proven experience working as a Chef or in a similar culinary role.


• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in hotel, cafe or a la carte restaurant work.


• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery


• Recognised cookery qualification or equivalent experience is acceptable.


• A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a chef, preferably in a catering environment


• Knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, kitchen procedures, and culinary trends.


• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.


• Strong communication and teamwork skills.


• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.


• Understanding of food safety and OHS requirements in a commercial kitchen


• Impeccable presentation and the ability to engage with customers.

  • Excellent communication skills and a team player.
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including nights, weekends, and peak holiday periods.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
