The Team
The Asset Management team ensures the efficient operation, safety, and longevity of physical assets that support the Town's strategic and operational needs. This involves maintaining and upgrading facilities, managing construction and renovation projects, overseeing the effective use and upkeep of vehicle fleets, facilitating efficient waste management solutions, and supporting informed decision-making. Services in this area include, asset management, major projects, waste and building maintenance.
The Role
The Manager Assets and Major Projects plays a critical role in leading strategic asset management planning, capital works, building maintenance and waste services for the Town. This position ensures the Town's assets are fit for purpose, compliant with legislative requirements, and aligned with organisational goals. Reporting to the Director Infrastructure and Works you will lead the Town's Asset Management team and be responsible for overseeing operational and workforce performance and development, mentorship and guidance, while ensuring alignment with the Town's strategic business planning. With your proven expertise in delivering capital works, contractor management and maintenance programs, you will ensure that all projects meet high quality, safety and environmental standards.
This position is offered on a five-year performance-based contract, and you will be rewarded with an attractive remuneration package depending upon qualifications and experience. This package includes a base salary range $156,000-$176,800, statutory superannuation of 12% plus up to 5% optional additional super, negotiable with the successful candidate.

- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strategic asset management experience, including development of asset management policies, asset management strategies and maintenance plans.
- Highly developed conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated success in managing and delivering a range of high value infrastructure related projects.
- Strong budgeting, financial management and contract management skills.
- Experience in effectively managing a wide range of stakeholders in sensitive environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including demonstrated influencing and negotiating skills.
Eligibility
- Australian working rights
- National Police Clearance (no older than 3 months)
- Tertiary Qualification/s in Building, Architecture, Engineering, Project Management, Asset Management, Construction Management or similar related field.
