Casual Support Worker – Townsville (QLD)

Experienced | Compassionate | Immediate Start

We are currently seeking a casual support worker to join our team in Townsville, QLD, providing high-quality care to a male client in his 40s who is wheelchair-bound due to a workplace accident.

This role requires a skilled and empathetic individual who is comfortable with digital stimulation therapy as part of the client's daily routine, along with providing personal care and light domestic support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing daily digital stimulation therapy (bowel care)
  • Assistance with personal care tasks, including showering
  • Light household duties (basic cleaning, meal prep, etc.)
  • Transport and assistance with appointments and activities as required
  • Creating a positive and engaging environment through conversation and support

About the Client:

The client is friendly, highly communicative, and has a great sense of humour. We are looking for someone who can match his energy, build rapport, and contribute to his overall wellbeing.

About You:

  • Professional, compassionate, and reliable
  • Comfortable with bowel care (digital stimulation)
  • Able to engage in conversation and foster a supportive relationship
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks if necessary
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Requirements:

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Blue Card (Working with Children)
  • Yellow Card / NDIS Worker Screening
  • Cert III in Individual Support (or relevant experience) desirable
  • Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle (mandatory)
