Join the vibrant team of Support Workers at Olacare, a leading provider of disability support services in Townsville, Queensland. As a registered NDIS provider, we are currently recruiting for experienced support workers. In this casual role, you will be able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the local community by assisting participants with various daily tasks and activities. Whether it's helping with personal care, domestic duties, or social engagement, your compassionate and professional approach will be essential in enabling our participants to live independently and with dignity.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised support with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
  • Assisting with domestic tasks like cleaning, laundry, and light gardening
  • Accompanying participants to appointments, social activities, and community outings
  • Monitoring participant well-being and reporting any changes or concerns to the team
  • Actively engaging participants in meaningful activities to promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being
  • Adhering to all Olacare policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines

What we're looking for

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification in Disability, or Community Services
  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality support and personal care to participants
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with participants
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with a genuine commitment to promoting participant independence and well-being
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays
  • A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
