The Role

The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional care, healthier lives'. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.

The Sydney Youth Cancer Service (SYCS) is a specialised treatment and support service for adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, aged 15 – 25 years. Young people with cancer have unique needs requiring age-appropriate services and support.

This role will provide evidence-based neuropsychology services to adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer aged 15-25 years, their families and support networks. The role is based in the Sydney Youth Cancer Service which is a collaboration between the Prince of Wales Hospital and Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick.

In addition to providing direct clinical care, the role will contribute to research exploring survivorship models of care including neuropsychology assessment and support, that ensure young people with at-risk mental health, cognitive functioning, and educational/career goals have access to tailored support.

Where you'll be working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.
