Wa Gyuto is a modern restaurant specialising in Japanese culinary techniques with Australian produces, known for its creativity, high-quality dishes, and excellent service. We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of hot dishes featured on our menu.

  • Follow recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency.

  • Work closely with Chefs and team to deliver high-quality meals.

  • Apply both Japanese and Western cooking techniques, including grilling, stir-frying, deep-frying, sautéing, and simmering.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and strict food safety standards in the kitchen.

  • Ensure dishes are presented attractively and in line with Japanese culinary aesthetics.

  • Assist with stock control and ensure ingredients are fresh and available.

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

  • Proven experience as a Cook in a professional kitchen.

  • Understanding of Japanese cuisine and interest in fusion dining.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team-oriented with good communication skills.

  • Strong commitment to food quality and hygiene standards.
