POSITION SUMMARY: The role of the service technician is to be responsible for the commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of SMARDT Chillers and related products and services. The Service Technician works closely with the Service Support Team and other staff, ensuring the highest levels of customer service, assistance, and advice at all times.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out the commissioning, installation, maintenance, and repairs for SMARDT Chillers throughout the region.
  • Work closely with the Service Support Team and other staff to identify, develop, and implement solutions for customers.
  • Support customers out of defect liability period (DLF) with costed product specialist assistance.
  • Identify and communicate problems throughout the region to management and contribute to their resolution.
  • Diagnose faults and provide solutions for customers in a timely manner.
  • Perform breakdown repairs throughout the region that may require working out of normal business hours.
  • Keep good records and fill out any work reports required.
  • Interstate travel and global travel may be required from time to time.
  • Support the achievement of service sales targets in the region.
  • Have good computer and communication skills.
  • Have 5+years' experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Maintain company car and all property issued.
  • Always maintain safe work practices.
  • Other duties as required.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Data Centre Experience (beneficial)
  • Experience working on central plant air-conditioning systems.
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration and air conditioning system basic principles.
  • Building management systems/controls experience (beneficial)
  • Demonstrated understanding of Danfoss Turbocor compressors (beneficial)
  • SMARDT Training Certified (beneficial)

Qualifications

  • Australian trade certificate in refrigeration and air-conditioning.
  • Unrestricted refrigeration handling licence (ARC)
  • Valid full drivers' licence.
  • Restricted electrical licence – D
  • Current white or red cards
  • Current working with children check (can be obtained through the onboarding process)
