Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Stile Education Full time $70,000 - $120,000 per year

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

OPERATIONS

FIXED-TERM

From lab-grown meat, to the gut-brain axis, or computer-brain implants to working out how we'll feed a colony on Mars and beyond, Stile is the school science curriculum preparing our young citizens for the world they're living in. It's about equipping them with the critical thinking skills and problem solving tools needed to tackle the big issues of today, and tomorrow.

More than 1 in 3 Australian secondary schools use Stile's science curriculum to explore and analyse the science behind the big issues facing us globally. Every week, over 250,000 students from around Australia, and increasingly the United States, use Stile's current-edge technology platform in their classrooms. For more information about what we do, have a read of our 'why'.

We're looking for someone to join our small but mighty People & Culture team on a full-time, fixed-term basis to own the workplace experience at Stile HQ. Think of yourself as the heartbeat of the office, creating an environment where our team feels comfortable, supported, and inspired to do their best work.

Stile HQ is something we take huge pride in. It's a space our team loves coming into. From our comfy lounge areas and big kitchen stocked with healthy (ish) snacks, to the little details that make people feel looked after, you'll be the one making sure the experience of working here is second-to-none.

If you've thrived in hospitality, love looking after people, and are ready for a move into more regular hours while still bringing that same warmth and energy, this could be the perfect fit.

Here are some of the things you'll be doing to ensure the workplace experience is delightful:

  • Making Stile HQ an amazing place to work

The core of this role is to ensure that our office is well stocked, we're well fed, and we have all the tools to be able to do our best work This might include ordering groceries and office supplies, organising our fortnightly bagel bar breakfast, and proactively fixing or escalating facilities issues.
  • Managing and running Stile internal events and celebrations

We love celebrating the small and big moments You'll be the one brainstorming event ideas, creating proposals, sourcing suppliers, and executing our events calendar, including our end of year holiday party
  • Fostering employee engagement

You'll keep the team engaged through our weekly internal newsletter, manage our benefits such as parental leave, salary sacrifice, etc, as well as completing any HR admin as necessary.

About you

  • You've got a hospitality mindset: warm, approachable, and always ready to make people feel welcome.
  • You're organised and detail-oriented, the kind of person who spots when the coffee is running low or the dishwasher needs emptying before anyone else notices.
  • You're proactive and solutions-focused, taking initiative and smoothing out little friction points that make the team's day better.
  • You love curating experiences, whether it's running a smooth office lunch service or organising a great event, you take pride in the details.
  • You're looking for a new chapter outside of late nights and weekend shifts, where you can bring your people skills into a Monday–Friday role that still has plenty of variety and energy.

We're dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive and authentic workplace. If you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't perfectly align with all of the points above, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or another role.

Hours and location

This is a full-time, six month contract based in Melbourne, Australia.

Overall we're an "in-person" culture (we enjoy working together face to face), so expect to see staff in the office 3-4 days a week. Due to the nature of this role, we would require you to be in the office every day. Our office is in the CBD near Parliament station.

Life at Stile

Stile is run by the people who started and own the company. We're here to build something real and enduring. A company that in years to come we look back on and are proud of what we achieved, and how we achieved it.

What's in it for you:

  • Colleagues worth working with.

You'll join an amazing 90-strong team of teachers, scientists, artists, and engineers. We hold ourselves, and each other, to a high standard, and love what we do.
  • Working on something that really matters.

In partnership with teachers, we're coaching students to become problem solvers and critical thinkers. We believe that with a strong command of science, tomorrow's citizens and leaders are set up to sort the misinformation from the facts.
  • Support always.

Stile is its people, and it's important we are creating an environment where you're supported, happy and able to do your best work. We have strong management and feedback frameworks, and a great benefits program.
  • A fantastic office environment.

We love in-person collaboration, and have built an office to facilitate just that. It has a huge central kitchen, lots of places to put your feet up to work and even end of trip facilities if you ride in.
  • Flexibility.

We expect that you work hard, but you'll have flexible hours when you need it.
