The RoleThe Work Health and Safety (WHS) Consultant provides advice and support on all WHS matters including the effective management of all issues relating to injury management and workers' compensation. This covers all Department worksites, including Muresk Institute in Northam, WA.

The position supports the development, review and implementation of the Department's Work Health and Safety Management Framework, WHS Policy, and Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Policy including its overarching WHS strategies and programs aimed at fostering a safe workplace culture.

We are looking for someone who is proactive and outcomes focussed, with experience in contemporary work health and safety, workers' compensation, injury and risk management with strong knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the Workers' Compensation Act 2023 and Work Health and Safety Act 2020.

This role offers the successful candidate opportunities to contribute to transformational outcomes that will make a real impact on the Department's safety culture. We have significant projects on the horizon for the team this year which will provide the successful candidate with valuable opportunities to advance their technical and strategic abilities in WHS. Such projects include the development of a Safety Management System Framework, including critical WHS considerations relating to Psychosocial Safety, Workers' Compensation and Injury Management.
