About Us

Chut & Co is a vibrant café located in Mermaid Plaza, Mermaid Beach. Since opening in 2023, we've become a local favourite for specialty coffee, toasties, smoothies, and milkshakes — all made with simple, high-quality ingredients. Our focus is on doing the basics right: great coffee, good food, and friendly service in a relaxed coastal setting.

About the Role

We're looking for a reliable and experienced barista to join our friendly team. The shifts are fixed each week, so we're after someone dependable who can consistently work 3–4 days.

Each shift is 8.5 hours.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare and serve high-quality espresso coffee and other beverages.
  • Assist with light food preparation such as toasties and cabinet items.
  • Maintain a clean, organised workspace and help with general café cleaning.
  • Work collaboratively with a small, supportive team to deliver great service.

About You

  • Proven barista experience — you can produce consistent, quality coffee under pressure.
  • A genuine passion for coffee and hospitality.
  • Reliable, punctual, and available to work at least 3–4 days per week, with flexibility across weekdays and weekends.
  • Looking for a long-term position — we're not seeking short-term staff or travellers, but someone who wants to grow with our team and be part of our café family.
  • Team-oriented and proactive.
