We have a fantastic opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join our team and lead our Sydney distribution network.

Reporting to the Head of Distribution, this role collaborates with our sales and manufacturing business stakeholders to execute delivery, inventory management and service outcomes for our customer partners.  We are looking for an experienced leader, with broad knowledge of all aspects of warehousing, logistics, distribution and inventory management to deliver stand-out business results in a highly competitive market.

In leading our Sydney distribution team, you will be responsible for strategic and operational management with a primary focus on our warehousing and distribution operations for our Sydney customers. You will provide key people leadership and coaching, with a focus on:

  • Providing safety leadership and safe systems of work;
  • Developing a high performing, industry-leading warehouse and distribution team;
  • Delivering operational efficiency and outstanding customer service; and
  • Meeting agreed business KPI's (CoR, inventory management, DIFOT)

Complying with relevant statutory obligations, standards, and approved codes of practice, including a continual focus on Transport Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements for all work activities is critical to the role.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Implementing Operational Standards which drive efficiency and cost improvements;
  • Monitoring and reporting on key metrics and KPI's such as DIFOT, inventory levels, stock control and fleet management;
  • Maintaining structured inventory management processes, to ensure accurate demand forecasts & reliability of product supply;
  • Focus on continually improving team productivity and asset utilisation;
  • Utilisation of technology and software to improve operational performance;
  • Mentoring and motivating the team to deliver on key business targets;
  • Implementing development plans to foster team success and allow team members to fulfil their potential;

  • Periodic and cyclical compliance, reporting and reviews.

What we are looking for:

  • 5 years' Supply Chain operations experience, including logistics, inventory and warehousing operations, within an FMCG or Food Services organisation;
  • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related field;
  • High digital dexterity with working knowledge of Microsoft suite and ERP systems (experience using Pronto, Ordermentum, Optimo-route or related systems will be looked upon favourably);
  • High degree of attention to detail;
  • Ability to build trust with teams, through communication, care and leading by example;
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Agility to think quickly and problem solve in a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to coach Team members in developing and exceeding KPI's and targets;
  • Strong knowledge of Transport Chain of Responsibility requirements and freight management processes;
  • Ability to analyse departmental financial data to make strategic and tactical decisions;
  • Ability to lead by example to introduce and influence change and collaboration;
