About Motherland
Motherland is a national charity empowering and connecting rural mums across the country. Our work reduces isolation and improves mental health for women on the land,, and we need your help to support our life-changing work through marketing, communications and events.
About the Role
We're looking for a Marketing and Events Coordinator to jump in and support our small team with a range of exciting projects. This role will suit someone with a few solid years under their belt in events, communications or marketing, someone who's ready to roll up their sleeves, execute, and work closely with our Marketing and Events Manager. This is a flexible, part-time contract role (around 10 hours/week), which can be worked across one or two days. While much of the work can be done from home, you'll need to be able to work in-person at a co-working office in Toowoomba regularly.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Marketing and Events Coordinator, you'll be an essential support to our Marketing and Events Manager, helping bring a variety of projects and campaigns to life. Your role will work across all key Motherland channels including our Motherland Owned Assets, Motherland Village program and Motherland Connect.
You'll assist in developing and rolling out marketing campaigns, managing timelines, and supporting the launch of new e-commerce initiatives. From drafting engaging copy to social content creation and preparing newsletters, you'll play a hands-on role in keeping our communication clear and on brand.
On the events side, you'll support a broad range of activities, from branded fundraisers, community activations and our flagship 2026 National Conference, taking place in Toowoomba next year. You'll be a key liaison throughout the entire event journey: contributing to planning, coordinating logistics, documenting processes, and supporting implementation on the ground. Your ability to juggle details and build strong relationships will help ensure every Motherland event is executed with heart and precision.
And through it all, you'll be part of a close-knit, passionate team where everyone pitches in. We work hard and care deeply about the mums we serve. Every day looks a little different, but everything we do is grounded in purpose.
Who We're Looking For
- You have at least 4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or events
- You're organised, creative, and comfortable juggling multiple projects
- You bring warmth, energy, and a "how can I help?" attitude to your work
- You're a team player, happy to support others and get involved wherever needed
- You live within reach of Toowoomba and are available for regular in-person work
Most importantly, you care about rural communities and want to be part of something meaningful.
- Contract Type: Contractor
- Hours: Approx. 10 hours/week (flexible, across one or two days)
- Location: Hybrid - remote work with regular in-person time in Toowoomba
- Duration: 3 months to start, with the potential to extend
Interested?
We'd love to hear from you. Please ensure you submit a Cover Letter with your resume letter telling us a bit about you, your experience, and why this role excites you.
